About me
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#159426) in the state of California. I see clients virtually as long as they are located in California. I see clients in person in Los Angeles in two locations— West LA and Sherman Oaks. I have a background in teaching adolescents and pre-kindergarten, teaching meditation to kids and adults, energy healing, as well as my masters in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Symptoms are important clues to what is happening with you, but my holistic approach will also explore your relationships, environment, past traumatic events and significant milestones that have effected you. No matter what brings you to therapy or what stage of life you’re in, my approach is warm and collaborative—we will work together as a team to identify what needs examination or change in order to bring more peace, fulfillment and authenticity into your life.
My specialties include adults struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, a life transition or grief and loss, as well as young adults transitioning into adulthood and discovering who they are. I also love helping people explore how to find more meaning in life. I want to help you explore questions like what am I meant to be doing in life and what do I really believe in? What do I have to offer the world and what would make me feel more engaged in my life? I want to help you examine blocks you feel in relationships, goals or creativity and how to develop a deeper and more honest relationship with yourself.
Along with my background in education I have worked extensively with kids, teens and their families, as well as family work with older teens and early twenties and their parents. I believe a child is never a problem and any behavior viewed as acting out is a child communicating what they don’t have the words, skills or safety to express. It is my job to create a space where that can be expressed and we can work together to address what needs to change to improve the child’s functioning and increase happiness. I have also enjoyed working with many LGBTQ teen and adult clients and having conversations around identity development, gender expression and developing an authentic self.
